Arise Ghana group will commence its two-day demonstration today, 28th June, 2022, in Accra, Ghana.
On Monday, June 27, 2022, the organization appeared in court to dispute an impasse regarding the demonstration’s modalities with the Ghana Police Service.
Yesterday, Justice Comfort Tasiame, who presided over the case at the Criminal Division of the Accra High Court, partially approved the Police’s request and instructed protesters to gather at Obra Spot, travel via Farrisco Avenue to TUC, and terminate their demonstration at the Independent Square.
Per the court’s order, the demonstration should begin at 8am and end at 4pm.
Some members of the Arise Ghana organization hinted at the prospect of defying the court’s order because they were unhappy with the decision.
