IoD-Gh, Dalex Finance to Hold Webinar on Preparing for Retirement

The Institute of Directors-Ghana (IoD-Gh) and Dalex Finance andLeasing Company Ltd. Have agreed to hold a joint training on preparation for retirement specially designed for members of the Institute.

By leveraging the expertise and resources of both IoD-Gh and Dalex Finance, the webinar aims to empower individuals with the tools necessary to make informed decisions and ensure a smooth transition into retirement.

This decision was reached after a meeting between the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IoD-Gh, Mr. Clement Wiredu, and the Director of Business Operations at Dalex Finance & Leasing Company, Mr Joe Jackson, on Monday, 29th June 2023

Mooting the idea, Mr Joe Jackson said that Dalex is focusing on providing such workshops for organizations and groups as a way of giving back to society.

“Our strategy these days has been to move away from aggressive sales of our products and rather focus on enhancing lives and preparing Ghanaians better to manage the sting of the hard economic times we are in. By combining our expertise with yours, we can train IoD-Gh members for retirement. I believe we can make a positive impact on the lives of participants and contribute to the long-term financial well-being of your members through such a training,” he announced.

In his response, IoD-Gh CEO expressed his excitement about the idea.

“The Institute has a large membership with an average age of 50 years. So, it is very prudent for the Institute to consider preparing members for retirement. Often, people equate retirement to SSNIT contribution, but I believe there is more to it and so having a renowned entity like yours [Dalex] train our members will be very ideal,” he said during the discussion.

Among other discussions, the two business leaders also deliberated the potential of having Dalex Finance become a corporate member of the IoD-Gh and leveraging the influence of both organizations towards advocating for good corporate governance in Ghana.

IoD-Gh CEO presented Mr. Joe Jackson with the Institute’s “Best Practice Guide: Directors’ Handbook,” and encouraged Mr. Jackson to place orders for all directors of Dalex Finance.

The meeting was part of the CEO’s drive to increase the Institute’s engagement with key stakeholders in Ghana
