PL: Newcastle thrash Leicester City 3-0.

Newcastle beat Leicester City at the King Power Stadium in a boxing day fixture to kick-start the first round of Premier League matches after the world cup.

Newcastle scored their first goal from the spot after only 2 minutes when Daniel Amartey brought down Joelinton.

A second goal for the Magpies did not take long in coming as a a pass from Bruno Guimaraes found Miguel Almiron who slotted the ball in the bottom corner.

A third goal seemed inevitable as Newcastle dominated the half in every respect.

Kieran Trippier’s cross from the corner found Joelinton’s head to put Eddie Howe’s side in a comfortable lead going into halftime.

The second half did not have a lot of action as Newcastle seemed to have done the job in the first half.

This win for Newcastle means they are currently second on the league table, above Manchester City, Tottenham and Manchester United.
