A circulation of rumours about the nationality switch of the Ghanaian young boxer Isaac Dogboe are deemed false statements.
The boxer is the first Ghanaian youngster to win the WBO Super Bantamweight Championship in Philadelphia.
A press release by Rising Star Africa Promotion on 15th June, 2022, denies all rumours about the said boxer to switching his nationality to the United Kingdom (UK).
“It has come to the attention of Team Dogboe that a news item is peddling falsehood as to isaac Dogboe’s nationality,” the press release said.
As it still stands now, the boxer is still a Ghanaian who will always fight for Ghana and has never thought of making nationality switches just as the press release says.
“He has and will always fight for Ghana and has not issued any communications or granted any interview on nationality switch. Kindly disregard any such information,” it added.
With prayers and support, the Rising Star Africa Promotion appeals to fans of Dogboe and the entire country as the youngster fights on 23rd July, 2022 in the United States for the 1st position of the North American Boxing Federation (NABF).
“Let’s all rally behind him (Dogboe) as the North American Boxing Federation (NABF) Champion to clinch the number 1 title contender position come Saturday 23rd July, 2022 at the Grand Casino Hinckley, Minnesota, USA for the motherland.”
Gary al-Smith, a Ghanaian sports journalist who reports for international media as well also confirms the rumour about the boxer to be false.
