Fifi Fiavi Kwetey a Ghanaian politician and Member of Parliament for the Ketu South constituency and current General Secretary elect of the NDC
says he is happy for the people due the current appreciation of the cedi and not
the Government. To him, the reduction is temporal and he revealed that
The government has created an artificial appreciation of the cedi, which can be considered a minor achievement of the Government
In an interview with Johnnie Hughes on TV3 morning show(New Day) he indicated:
“when you have a situation where the massive importation in your country is
not happening because you have put a certain in place when people can not
import with the dollars, you create an artificial cedi appreciation”
“it is not anything to celebrate at all” These are just short term things
that are artificial the real sustainable situation is what we see when these artificial
we see stop blowing”
