The Education Minister, Dr.Yaw Adutwum assures parents that, President Akuffo-Addo has no plans to cancel the free SHS program.
This was after citizens expressed their fears that the Free SHS policy may be cancelled due to the current economic hardship of the country.
Since the start of the year, Ghana’s Economy has suffered greatly. It is currently considered among the worst performing countries in Africa economically.
Despite Various measures being taken by the giver to curb the situation, the situation continues to bite harder. As a result, there are fears that some of its flagship programs including the Free SHS may be cancelled.
“When we talk about Free Senior High School, some of us who have been privileged, look at the opportunity this has presented to them,” he says.
“They are sitting on edge thinking the opportunity is going for o be taken away from them. I want to assure the people of this country that their opportunity will not be taken away, the president is fully committed to the implementation of Free SHS”, the education minister iterated.
